This is a video to show everyone, who is either just getting into Tech school or have been in tech school for a while, how to make your ABU hat perfect.

This is a video of the 336 Red wolves Drill Team... This was just one of our practices. The music playing is a dubstep remix that I found on here that I really enjoyed. Leave comments and tell me what you think.
Paco scares the Asian

Neighbor hood prankster Paco Fowler, scares my old roommate. Not like I care anyways. unfortunately I was unable to catch his immediate reaction but the after affect was well worth it.

Where I buy a Hat Can? I live in the UK
Bro is at keesler
I'd use hairspray on my BDU hat and it wouldn't fade like it would with canned starch or sta-flo. AquaNet is the best.
On my ABU Cover for CAP, it says in the hat to not starch or wring
Did you go to keelser? I feel like I used your hat can unless you took it with you operationally! There’s one that got passed from tech schooler to tech schooler
never thought I'd be putting my hat in the freezer but here we go.
I just soaked mine and sprayed the shit out of it
If you ranger roll it in your cargo pocket, won’t it ruin the whole form of the PC? I’ve been trying to form mine like yourself, but I’m afraid that it will just ruin the whole form. Got any tips?
Just don’t put it in your pocket
How to make a Hat Can?
How to look like a fucking POG lol
Him: hat Every marine: *freaking out because he said hat instead of cover*
When your job in the air force is an office job....
The intro has me screaming 😂😂😂😂
I threw my ABU around and it didnt deform
Can i use a foam hat shaper instead of a hat can?
The music in this is like opening up a time capsule
I was thinking the same damn thing
This the best way to do this, but my dad use a pan to shape his hat. Thanks for help me
I prefer a thin coating of Flex Seal. I can use it as a cover or canteen or a boat.
And congrats Airman, your hat is officially out of regs, no part of the ABU (or OCP uniform these days) is supposed to be starched or heavily ironed.
which is why many look ate up
@@wadeo_0 the problem is people leave their uniforms balled up or on the floor, hell some airmen don't even regularly wash their uniforms, if you actually hang up your uniforms when you take them out of the dryer they look alright.
@@nunyabusiness4904 alright don't cut it man. We should look sharp, especially when Garrison. It just needs a better design, darker color, and a actual shaped head cover
@@wadeo_0 it's a utility uniform, it's supposed to be functional not pretty, with the dress uniforms by all means go all out and make it as good looking as possible.
@@nunyabusiness4904pretty no, sharp yes. utility is only needed in field operations
it literally says DO NOT STARCH
The reasoning is actually not due to the starch itself it’s because the heat it takes to set the starch normally
Whatever flyboy..
It’s not a fucking hat guy
Looks pretty gay
It looks like Keesler dorms
Or Sheppard
40 years ago we left it wet and put the starch on with a 2 inch paint brush. We painted both sides of the top and the bill.
If you want to look sharp, wear your blues. If you want to look like a DBA, block your hat.
It is a bit difficult finding the hat shaper (aside from the supplier online store). I plan to do this but with hair spray so it would still technically be in regs.
I'm confused as to why everyone is freaking out about the starch. Yes it can be seen through night vision but only certain Air Force MOS' go into combat and even then wouldn't you wear a bonnie or helmet? Great video though my cover looks very sharp and professional.
Every AFSC has the opportunity to go into combat when deployed, and everyone is susceptible to being deployed unless they’re on a waiver.
When I was in the military we used heavy starch for uniforms for garrison use, many did, but would use different uniforms for the field
Well i never really thought about ironing our starching my 8 Point because you can't ware your Cover inside a building they tell you to put it inside your pocket than it gets bent wrinkled crushed and smushed and looks like shit anyway.
That's not a Hat Airman that's a Cover our a Patrol Cap .
Fuck that.
There are hats out there where they have already done this...it is permanently hard and perfect.
Excellent resource for learning how to starch any (street, civilian) hat that's been made in this style. My teenaged son has a hat similar in looks to this hat - and it had white sweat stains around the brim so I hand-washed it and it looked great afterward - except that it completely lost it's shape! Soooo glad I found your video for re-shaping! Now I can get it fixed up before he sees it - and says, "WTG Mom, my hat is really clean but it looks ridiculous now!" EEK! Thanks so much for posting this! 😊👍 - Off to buy some starch!
Maggie G. Who actually wears a PC in a civilian manner?????? I mean I get it, but even a civilian version is really weird, I’ve never heard of that kinda thing
Lavender scented starch,lol.scary.
Black music at first not nesseicary, "text school approved hat" WTF are you talking about, we understand you gays are in the military but just stop flaunting it... its annoying as hell
If your annoyed by people referencing that they are in the military why are you watching a video about how to starch a military cover? This video was made for people in the Air Force and ROTC's. Also what's wrong with like 6 seconds of hip hop, (or "black music" as you like to call it)
Metal Material so true mate
*Necessary *Tech school
If you didn't have your American military you'd probably be speaking French or Spanish maybe even German right now.
I am in civil air patrol and we just use carboard to fit the top of the cover
Same here, I plan to attempt this buy I've got to check if it's in regs first. And even then I've still got to search where I can get a hat can.
Viixi
There are better and permanent ways of doing this without starch
Examples?
Dude Air Force Handbook Section 17.14 "Starching and hot pressing of the ABU is prohibited." 😂
Also AFI36-2903 section 5.1 lol
People starch their uniforms anyway. Perception weighs more than any AFI, just saying.
Your such a stolen Valor piece of shit. If you knew anything you would know that so called "hat" is called a cover....
AlexMarines24 oh shut the fuck up you boot. The way he calls a hat should be the least of your worries here. What he did is out of regs.
It’s called headgear
Too bad not all tech schools dorms have freezers (Lackland)
Believe me that I can make a hat way better & 4x's harder than that. 1/4 Fabric Stiffener, 3/4 water.
Yeah. Starch gives off heat signatures, and for combat that obviously isn't good.
Garrett Sanger tell me when the fuck you’ve seen a tech school airman stateside in combat wearing his cover and not a helmet.... I’m waiting
thank you ahaha@@Blake-dv9xf
That Starch Is Against Regs.
what about a beret?
I think sharp covers give a more disciplined and military appearance. That's what they did in the old days; starch their hats. Now a days people are like "oh it's just a cover, I don't care if it looks like smashed shit on my head, cuz it ain't supposed to be pretty." Yeah, you do that, and I'll keep starching mine, soldier.
Xavier Cavalier you arent supposed to use it in the military becaude starch lights up under night vision. Using staff invalidates your cover for combat.
@Vin That's a myth.
Fucking pog
@@Ayy_la Like airmen would every be so deep in the suck that NV is being used. There's thermal too... No uniform that I know of can hide you from that...
I'm honestly more an eight pointed cover guy but I'm not gonna lie, patrol/fatigue caps don't look half bad when they are properly creased and shaped!
For how long should you put the abu hat in the freezer for
Dont
4 years
5 years
I understand the feeling of being right and knowing the Air Force uniform regulations, but of course only a few should notify him. He must know the regulations since he is in the service. Again I understand the feeling of correcting someone, but we only need a few. Hope everyone has a great day!
